Title:
LEAD-FREE FREE-CUTTING COPPER ALLOY MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3485502
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure machinability, cold workability and strength approximately equal to those of the existing material and to improve its castability and corrosion resistance without contg. an environmentally harmful Pb by specifying the chemical compsn. of a copper alloy material composed of Cu, Bi, Fe, Sn, P and Zn.
SOLUTION: This lead-free free-cutting copper alloy material has a compsn. composed of, by weight, 57.0 to 64.0%, desirably, about 59.0 to 64.0%, particularly, about 59.0 to 61.0% Cu, 0.5 to 4.0%, desirably, about 2.45 to 3.90%, particularly, about 2.45 to 3.15% Bi and one or more kinds of elements among 0.01 to 0.50%, desirably, about 0.05 to 0.40%, particularly, about 0.20 to 0.30% Fe, 0.2 to 2.0%, desirably, about 0.30 to 1.85%, particularly, about 0.30 to 1.9% Sn, 0.02 to 0.10%, desirably, about 0.035 to 0.08%, particularly, about 0.055 to 0.085% P, and the balance substantial Zn. Moreover, a prescribed amt. of Bi and prescribed amounts of one or more kinds among Fe, Sn and P are added to a 60/40 brass material.
