Title:
LIGHT-EMITTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005310539
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To output light having directivity with a high efficiency in a light-emitting element provided with a luminous layer which emits light having no directivity.

This is a light-emitting element 1 in which a transparent positive electrode 11, a luminous layer 12, and a negative electrode 13 are laminated on one surface 10a of a substrate 10 so as to interpose the luminous layer 12 between the positive electrode 11 and the negative electrode 13, and by impressing voltage between the positive electrode 11 and the negative electrode 13, light in various directions is emitted from the luminous layer 12 and outputted from the end surface on the transparent electrode 11 side. The light-emitting element 1 is provided with an angle transformation layer 15 for changing the advance direction of the incident light from the transparent electrode 11 side in order between the transparent electrode 11 and the end surface, and an angle selection layer 16 which transmits selectively only the light entered by a prescribed angle and reflects the light entered by an angle other than the prescribed angle.
