Abstract:
To provide a light-emitting device that is inexpensive and provides bright image quality, and an electric appliance using the same.SOLUTION: The light-emitting device is provided that comprises a pixel portion and a driver circuit on one insulator 11. The pixel portion and driver circuit are all formed using n-channel type semiconductor elements, so that their manufacturing processes are simplified. Since a light-emitting element provided for the pixel portion emits light in a direction away from the insulator 11, almost the entire pixel electrode 31 (corresponding to a cathode of an EL element 40) serves as an effective light emission region. Therefore, it is possible to achieve a display region in which the area of the pixel electrode 31 is effectively utilized, and accordingly the light-emitting device can be provided that is inexpensive and provides bright image quality.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
