A liquid crystal display device 101 includes a liquid-crystal display panel 1 having a display area 1a, a back light 2 arranged to be overlapped with the liquid-crystal display panel 1 so as to make light incident upon the display area 1a, and a thermoelectric transducer 3 arranged at a position to produce electric power using a temperature difference generated by the heat generation of the back light 2.
