To provide a liquid ejection head capable of easily wiping liquid from a top face of a nozzle forming surface even when viscosity of the liquid becomes higher than conventional ones.

A liquid ejecting head includes: a head unit 15 having a nozzle forming surface 2a on which a plurality of rows of nozzles 38 ejecting liquid are arranged and in which the nozzle forming surface 2a is wiped by a wiping member 12 in an arrangement direction of the rows of the nozzles 38; and a fixing member 16 fixing the head unit 15. The fixing member 16 includes a fixing plate section 53 on which an exposure opening section 55 exposing the nozzles 38 of the nozzle forming surface 2a is formed and of which an upper surface is joined to the nozzle forming surface 2a as a fixing reference surface in a state where the nozzle 38 is exposed into the exposure opening section 55. A cutout section 58 which opens the exposure opening section 55 in a wiping direction W and exposes an edge portion of the nozzle forming surface 2a is formed downstream of the wiping member 12 in the wiping direction W in the exposure opening section 55.
