Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve battery characteristics of a lithium ion secondary battery by suppressing a chemical reaction between a conductive assistant and an electrolyte.SOLUTION: A lithium ion secondary battery 100 comprises: a positive electrode 11 having a positive electrode mixture layer; a negative electrode 12 having a negative electrode mixture layer including a particulate negative electrode active material, a binder and a conductive assistant; and a nonaqueous electrolyte 14. The conductive assistant includes conductive metal particles of which the standard electrode potential is higher than a lithium standard electrode potential by 2.3 V or more. Particles forming the negative electrode active material include particles in direct contact with the conductive metal particles and particles in contact with the conductive metal particles through the binder. The yield strain of the negative electrode mixture layer is 70% or more of a maximum expansion quantity of the negative electrode mixture layer under an actual use condition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
