Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an inverter in which a single side sheet and a double side sheet are fed along a common input path, and the sheets are inverted.
CONSTITUTION: An inverter 10 is provided with a turnaround roller 25 and a gate 27. When a sheet is inverted, the gate 27 is directed downward. The sheet 11 conveyed by rollers 15-18 enters a nip between rollers 20 and 25, and further conveyed. Since the gate 27 is directed downward, the sheet 11 is advanced to a channel between the roller 25 and a baffle 29, and directed to a nip between the rollers 17 and 18. The rollers 15-18 are rotated in the direction opposite to the rotational direction when the sheet 11 is carried toward the roller 25. The sheet 11 is returned on the original incoming path, and the sheet is inverted. When the sheet is not inverted, the gate 27 is directed upward, and the sheet 11 does not enter the channel between the roller 25 and the baffle 29, but passes through the inverter 10.
