Title:
MAGNETIC RESISTANCE CURRENT SENSOR HAVING HIGH SENSITIVITY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07209337
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a compact current sensor with high sensitivity from any induction component having an air gap in magnetic path by installing a magnetic resistance material in a fringe magnetic field path.

CONSTITUTION: An inductive element 10 is composed of a magnetic core or base board 12, a solenoid 13 for generating a magnetic field in it, and an air gap 14 in a fringe magnetic flux 15 equipped with a magnetic field. A current sensor is installed in a fringe magnetic field and can be configured with four terminals or two terminals. The arrangement further includes an insulative base board 20, a pair of electrodes for current 22, 23, and a pair of electrodes for voltage 24, 25 to be favorably installed between current electrodes in the case of four-terminal configuration. A magnetic resistance thin film of LawCaxMyyO2 formed on base board of LaAlO3/Al2O3 yields such a high sensitivity that the DC current ranges between 1-100mV/ampere in the inductive component. This consumes a very small power and makes favorable electric separation between the sensor and an active device circuit.
