To provide a magnetic storage element that can correctly record information without causing miswriting, and to provide the recording method of the storage element and a magnetic storage device that is provided with magnetic storage elements composed of the storage element, and can stably and accurately record information even when the magnetic characteristics of each magnetic storage element vary.
The magnetic storage element 10 has a storage layer 1 and an auxiliary storage layer 2 which is composed of a ferromagnetic material and can maintain a magnetized state even after the impression of a magnetic field upon the layer 2 is stopped. After the magnetized state is recorded on the auxiliary storage layer 2 by impressing the magnetic field upon the layer 2, the information is recorded on the storage layer 1 by utilizing the magnetic field from the layer 2 by lowering the coercive force of the layer 1 by heating. The magnetic storage device is constituted of the magnetic storage elements 10, first wiring 11 which impresses a galvanomagnetic field upon the auxiliary storage layer 2, and second wiring 12 which heats the storage layer 1. The magnetic storage elements 10 are respectively disposed at an intersection of the first wiring 11 and the second wiring 12.
