Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject pigment advantageous for various purposes such as the coloration of coating material, printing ink, plastic, glass, a ceramic product and a decorative toiletry.

CONSTITUTION: A magnetizable luster pigment has a platelet like non- ferromagnetic metal support coated with (A) a first ferromagnetic layer containing γ-Fe2O3 and, if desired, (B1) one non-ferromagnetic layer containing metal oxide and/or (B2) an outside passivated phosphate-, chromate- and/or vanadate-containing layer.
