PURPOSE: To manufacture a cam shaft firmly joining a sintered alloy having excellent wear resistance by fitting an annular sheet geen compact compacted from eutectic alloy powder composing of C, P, Mo, Cr and Fe to the cam face and sintering.
CONSTITUTION: The alloy powder sheet composing of 94W99wt.% eutectic alloy powder containing C, P, Mo and Cr and the balance substantial Fe and 6W1% acrilyc adhesive binder, is compacted as annular state along the cam face of the cam part 2 in the cam shaft. This green body is pre-sintered to form the annular sheet preformed body. This annular sheet preformed body 1 is fitted to the cam face of the cam part 2 and held under non-oxidizing atmosphere at 720W920°C for 10W60 min. In this way, the above preformed body 1 is joined with solid phase sintering to the cam face. After that, further this is raised at about 1,060W1,100°C to execute regular sintering to the preformed body 1, and the sintered layer 3 of the eutectic alloy powder is formed. By this method, the cam shaft joining the sintered alloy having excellent wear resistance on the cam face so as not to fall out is obtd.
