PURPOSE: To increase workability in production and prevent short circuit by bonding the lapped part of a pair of separators with an adhesive, applying press rollers to facing winding axes, inserting a cathode plate and an anode plate into between winding axes and a separator, and rotating them.
CONSTITUTION: Lapped separator 1 is fed and an adhesive is applied to the separator located on adhesive coating tool 8 side with the tool 8. The separator 1 is fed to a given position and cut with a cutter 9. The separator 1 on a guide 10 side and the separator 1 on the tool 8 side are lapped and bonded with a pressing tool 11. Semicircularly divided winding axes 4 are advanced to place the lapped separator 1 between the axces 4. The separator 1 on the guide 10 side is cut in a given size with a cutter 9, and pressing roller s7 are applied to the winding axes 4. A cathode plate 2 and an anode plate 3 are inserted into between the lapped separator 1 and the winding axes 4 are rotated to spirally winding them. By this process, the separator is bonded in a short time, and short circuit caused by damage of the separator is prevented.
