Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an aromatic polycarbonate which, being what makes a crystalline aromatic polycarbonate the one having a higher degree of polymerization by solid-phase polymerization, maintains a straightened flow of the used inert gas and eliminates the temperature unevenness inside the polymerization reactor and the unevenness of polymerization degree in the obtained product.
SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the aromatic polycarbonate is the one in which the crystalline aromatic polycarbonate is made to have a higher degree of polymerization by the solid-phase polymerization and which uses an apparatus having a ratio DV1/D of 0.2-0.8 wherein DV1 is an inside diameter of a pipe (A) provided for exhausting the used inert gas and D is an inside diameter of the polymerization reactor.
