Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetocaloric effect material having large ΔS, a composite material, a cascade, a magnetic heat pump system, and a method for producing the magnetocaloric effect material.SOLUTION: The method for producing a magnetocaloric effect material is provided in which a surface oxidized film is formed on a raw material having NaZntype crystal structure, heated in an inert gas atmosphere and the film is caused to absorb hydrogen and is quenched. The raw material is preferably an aggregate of particles having a particle size of 1 to 1000 μm. It is preferable that a film thickness of the surface oxidized film is 5 to 100 nm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
