To suppress a disadvantage that inner peripheral faces of both insertion parts 10a, 10b and both shaft insertion holes 4a, 4b are mutually worn and prevent the reduction of accuracy of a governor because a weight pivotal shaft 5 does not rotate so far as the close adhesion of the other end side of the weight pivotal shaft 5 is not loosened, even if the close adhesion of the inner peripheral face of the shaft insertion hole 4a on one end side of the weight pivotal shaft 5 and the insertion part 10a is loosened due to the vibration of an engine.
In the mechanical governor of a diesel engine, both protruding parts 9a, 9b protruding on an outer side from both weight pivotal shaft support plates 3a, 3b among both end parts of the weight pivotal shaft 5 of a governor weight 6 are crushed like a flange along surfaces of peripheral wall parts of both shaft insertion holes 4a, 4b to swell both insertion parts 10a, 10b inserted into both shaft insertion holes 4a, 4b among both end parts of the weight pivotal shaft 5 in the radial direction and fix them by bringing them into close adhesion to the inner peripheral faces of both shaft insertion holes 4a, 4b.
