Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically determine which operation by a tracking processing or by a fixed detection phase is appropriate to a body to be inspected, and start inspection without depending on the judgement of a workmen.
SOLUTION: A tracking function control means 32b determines change characteristics of detection output of a conforming item of the body to be inspected to changes in a detection phase on the basis of output signals of a detection part 26 when the conforming item of the body to be inspected 1 passes an alternating field and determines whether a change in the detection phase by a tracking means 32a is required or not on the basis of the determined change characteristics. When it is determined that it is required, the function of changing the detection phase by the tracking means 32 is enabled. When it is determined that it is not required, the detection part 26 is operated by the fixed detection phase.
