PURPOSE: To make it possible to know corresponding relation between a virtual extended storage device (ES) address ad a real ES address from any processor in a composite system and to access a virtual ES by arranging an ES address conversion table in an ES.
CONSTITUTION: A data processor 11 consists of a processor 10 and a main storage device 20. A common ES 30 is used in common by plural processors 11. A common disk 50 is also used in common by the plural processors 11. The feature of this invention is to store the ES address conversion table 31 to be a corresponding table between virtual ES addresses and physical ES addresses in order to access the ES 30 by specifying the virtual address and to allow all the processors using the ES 30 in common to specify the address. Thereby the data (ES data) 40 in the ES can be accessed by specifying the virtual ES address. In addition, the data 40 can be similarly accessed by using the virtual ES address also from all the processors connected to the ES.
