Abstract:

To provide a method and an apparatus for efficiently processing a query.

According to the efficient query processing method and the apparatus, in the query processing method, an effective string set comprising a plurality of partial strings of different lengths is generated from a query string utilizing N-gram, one of subsets of the effective string set is determined as a candidate set on the basis of an access cost, and the candidate set is utilized to search for a document in which the query string is present.
