Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve anchor effects, qualities of appearance, adhesivity and dyeing characteristics and to clean and modify the surface of lens by peeling and removing the surface layer of a face of a plastic lens to be coated with polishing material, etc., before coating the face with a hard coat solution.
CONSTITUTION: A plastic lens 1 is fixed with a suction pad 2, rotated at about 800rpm around a geometrical center, a polishing urethane-based sponge 3 impregnated with an abradant is pressed against the surface of the plastic lens 1 under load of about 400g and moved at about 0.4cm/second from the center of the lens to the outer periphery while rotating the lens at about 80rpm. The surface layer of a face of the lens to be coated is abraded, peeled and removed so that surface modification such as cleaning, uniforming and activation of the face to be coated is carried out and simultaenously anchor effects are increased, qualities of appearance of hard coat film and adhesivity of the hard coat film to the face to be coated of the lens are improved and dyeing characteristics of a dyeable base are increased to clean and modify the surface of plastic lens.
