Abstract:

To provide a method for combining a preliminarily formed body with light alloy, in which a composite material with high hardness and excellent wear resistance can be obtained without performing any treatment for increasing the voluminal ratio of a porous metal forming the preliminarily formed body.

This method for combining the preliminarily formed body with light alloy comprises a preparation step for preparing the porous metal 1 forming the preliminarily formed body, a surface hardening step for performing the surface hardening to harden the surface of the porous metal 1 by changing the surface in metallic compounds, and combining step for combining the surface-treated porous metal 1 with molten light alloy as the preliminarily formed body 3.
