Abstract:
To provide a method, composition and product for assaying a sample for a target polynucleotide.
A sample suspected of containing the target polynucleotide is brought to be contacted with a polycationic multichromophore and a sensor polynucleotide complementary to the target polynucleotide. The sensor polynucleotide includes a signaling chromophore receiving energy from the excited multichromophore and increasing light emission in the presence of the target polynucleotide. The method can be used in multiplex form. A kit composed of a reagent for performing the method is also provided.
