PURPOSE:To change the time for laser light emission according to the flow characteristics of the potential of a photosensitive body and to obtain good images of photographs, microcharacters, etc., by providing a means for correcting laser pulse width in such a manner that original density Do-copy density Dc characteristics attain the prescribed characteristics. CONSTITUTION:The original information on an original is read by an image reading section of a reader section 10 of a laser exposing electrophotographic device and is inputted to a laser control circuit 20 after A/D conversion 13. Correction information is inputted from an input device 30 to the control circuit 20 and the beam emitted from a laser unit 23 of the control circuit 20 is scanned to the photosensitive body 41 consisting of amorphous silicon in a printer engine section 40. The correction information of the device 3 is added to the correction circuit 24 of the control circuit 20 of this system and the output signal from a PWM converter 21 is changed according to the flow of the potential of the photosensitive body 41, by which a laser driver 22 is controlled. The pulse width is so controlled that the Do-Dc characteristics attain the prescribed characteristics. The microcharacters and photographs, etc., of <=10mum unit picture element are thus satisfactorily obtd.
