Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decoloring a dyed polyester fiber that has a high effect of removing a dye and suppresses an amount of solvent as compared with that of solvent used in the conventional method.SOLUTION: The method for decoloring a dyed polyester fiber is a method for decoloring a polyester fiber colored with a dye which comprises the steps of: (a) heating a solvent having a boiling point equal to or higher than the glass transition point of the polyester fiber and less than the melting point thereof and capable of dissolving the dye to the boiling point to generate a vapor of the solvent; (b) condensing the vapor to form a condensate liquid of the vapor in the polyester fiber and dissolving the dye in the condensate liquid; and (c) recovering the condensate liquid dissolving the dye therein into the solvent.
