To provide a method for hydrogenation and fluid catalytic cracking of heavy hydrocarbon oil, which has slight reduction of cracking reaction activity of catalyst, high yield of gasoline and kerosene fractions and a small amount of consumption of fresh catalyst in an RFCC process even if large amounts of nickel and vanadium are deposited on a catalyst.
This method for hydrogenation and catalytic cracking of heavy hydrocarbon oil comprises (a) a process for hydrogenating a heavy hydrocarbon oil containing nickel, vanadium and a sulfur compound in the presence of a catalytic composition of hydrogenation to reduce contents of nickel, vanadium and a sulfur compound and to give a hydrogenated oil having the weight ratio of nickel to vanadium of ≥1.0 and (b) a process for subjecting at least a part of the hydrogenated oil to fluid catalytic cracking in the presence of a catalytic composition for catalytic cracking containing faujasite type zeolite having a unit lattice constant in the range of 24.25-24.40 and an inorganic oxide matrix.
