Title:
METHOD FOR JOINING PRECEDING MATERIAL AND SUCCEEDING MATERIAL IN CONTINUOUS HOT ROLLING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3386404
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drastically increase the joining strength between a preceding material and a succeeding material.
SOLUTION: At the time of joining the preceding material to succeeding material on the inlet side of a finishing mill 2 of a continuous hot rolling line, in a method by which the mutual cross sections of the prededing material and succeeding material are butted, heated and joined with a joining machine 4 after cutting the tail end of the preceding material and tip of the succeeding material with crop shears 3, the jet of cooling water from plural pieces of cooling water jetting equipment arranged between the crop shears 3 and the joining machine 4 is stopped for a prescribed period before and after cutting so that each cross section of the preceding material and succeeding material is not exposed to the cooling water and/or steam generated by jetting the cooling water.
