To provide a method for efficiently manufacturing an expanded rubber roller of highly stabilized quality by continuously performing processes up to expansion and vulcanization of a rubber composition extruded by an extruder under space saving and power saving control.
In this method, a raw material rubber composition is extruded in a tubular form, then vulcanized and expanded after cutting it to a specified length, and a core metal is forced into the obtained vulcanized rubber tube to obtain the expanded rubber roller. In this case, the cut unvulcanized rubber tube is disposed on a conveyance tray with an arc-shaped bottom which satisfies formula: R1≤R2≤2R1 (R1 represents a radius of the vulcanized rubber tube and R2 represents a radius of the bottom of the conveyance tray) and thermally vulcanized and expanded.
