Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a magneto-optical recording medium in which the recording density and the transfer speed can be drastically improved and also a reproducing device can be miniaturized.
SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the magneto-optical recording medium where a recording magnetic domain is extended by moving a magnetic barrier along an information track to reproduce information is provided with a layer forming stage and an annealing stage. In the layer forming stage, at least a first magnetic layer (11) which contributes to information reproducing and where the magnetic barrier is moved, a third magnetic layer (13) where the recording magnetic domain corresponding to information is held, and a second magnetic layer (12) which is arranged between both layers (11) and (13) and has a Curie point lower than those of both layers are formed in this order; and in the annealing stage, parts between adjacent information tracks are irradiated with laser light of a high output, and magnetic layers existing between information tracks are degenerated to cut magnetic coupling between magnetic layers of adjacent information tracks.
