Abstract:

To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery that is satisfactory in the cycle characteristics and reliability, by forming a satisfactory coating on a negative electrode at initial charging.

In the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprising an electrode plate group containing a positive electrode plate that holds a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode plate that holds a negative electrode active material, and a separator; and a nonaqueous electrolyte containing 0.5-1.5 mol/l lithium salt containing lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF6) and a nonaqueous solvent, the initial charge of a charging current is carried out at a hour rate of 1.0 or lower, with respect to the rated capacity in an environment of -5 to 10C, to form the satisfactory coating on a negative electrode surface.
