Abstract:
To provide a simple method for preventing stress corrosion cracking in a worked metal product.
In a step of manufacturing a worked product by using the pressing, a blank 1 is formed by blanking a metal, and a stock 2 after the bumping is formed by performing bumping on both sides of the blank 1. The stock 2 after the bumping is drawn in a semi-cylindrical shape to form a drawn product 3, and a final cylindrical drawn product 4 is manufactured through a product working step. Stress corrosion cracking in the cylindrical drawn product 4 is prevented by exerting compressive stresses in the surface of the blank 1 by the pressing by bumping, and mitigating the residual tensile stress generated in the next drawing.
