Abstract:
To provide a method for efficiently producing a catalase having an enhanced rate of reaction.
The method for producing the modified catalase having the enhanced rate of reaction comprises (1) modifying an amino acid sequence of the catalase so as to have aspartic acid and methionine as amino acid residues at positions corresponding to the 109th and the 167th positions of a specific amino acid sequence, respectively and/or (2) modifying the amino acid sequence so as to have leucine and isoleucine as amino acid residues at positions corresponding to the 149th and the 180th positions of the amino acid sequence, respectively.
