To provide a method for producing a plastic lens which can accurately control a color tone.
The lens manufacturing method is provided, including a functional film sticking process for sticking a composition for forming functional films 32-34 giving desired functions on the side of the lens molding surface 51 of a mold 50 for molding the lens, a dye sticking process for sticking a dye (sublimating dye) 40 after or during the functional film sticking process, and a polymerization process in which the mold 50 is joined, and a composition forming a lens substrate 35 is injected and heat-cured. Since the dye 40 can be applied in the mold, and they are all used for coloring, the color tone can be controlled accurately. The colore tone and density of right and left lenses can be adjusted, and a lens material difficult to be dyed can also be dyed.
