Abstract:
PURPOSE:To efficiently remove metal compds. from a specific polymer contg. them by mixing a poor solvent into a soln. of the polymer in a good solvent, heating and then cooling the mixture, and separating a polymer-contg. phase from the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A monomer of the formula (wherein A and B are each H or a 1-10C hydrocarbon group; X and Y are each H, halogen, or a monovalent org. group; and m is 0-1) is polymerized or copolymerized with a copolymerizable monomer, and the resulting (co)polymer is hydrogenated if necessaty, giving a ring-opening (co)polymer of the former monomer or a hydrogenation product of the (co)polymer. A polymer soln. obtd. by dissolving the (co)polymer or the hydrogenated (co)polymer in a good solvent is mixed with a poor solvent, heated to give a homogeneous phase, and cooled to separate into a polymer-free phase and a polymer-contg. phase, and from the latter phase is recovered the polymer.
