Title:
METHOD FOR REGULATING EXTERNAL SURFACE OF CONTINUOUS CASTING MOLD MADE OF COPPER OR COPPER ALLOY INCLUDING NICKEL PLATING STAGE AND NICKEL REMOVING STAGE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3955933
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical mold with less pollution by regulating the optimum quality of a wall surface of a mold for continuous casting of the metal consisting of copper or copper alloy by adhering a nickel layer containing a stage to periodically regenerate a nickel layer.
SOLUTION: The surface is prepared by a series of preparations comprising the cleaning operation of a non-coated surface of a mold element, the pickling operation in the oxidizing acid medium, and the gloss providing operation (a), the mold element is arranged as a cathode in the electrolyte consisting of the sulfamine acid nickel solution containing nickel of 60-100g/l, nickel is plated on the non-coated surface through the electroplating (b), after the mold is used, the mold element is arranged in the sulfamine acid nickel solution in which sulfamine acid of 20-80g/l is contained and pH is ≤2, and a part of or a whole of nickel is removed from the surface through the electrolysis (c), and nickel plating is newly performed on the surface after a non-coated copper surface is prepared in the above preparation as necessary (d).
