Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and inexpensive method of separating gallium from impurities.SOLUTION: A method of separating gallium from zinc includes a first step of adjusting the pH of a gallium aqueous solution containing zinc to 3-5 and taking out a precipitation containing gallium and zinc, a second step of dissolving the precipitation obtained in the first step in an alkaline aqueous solution of a pH of 13 or higher and a third step of adjusting the pH of the alkaline aqueous solution obtained in the second step and containing gallium and zinc to 12-13 so as to separate the alkaline aqueous solution into an aqueous solution containing gallium and a precipitation containing zinc.
