Abstract:
To provide a method for suppressing polymerization of a process fluid which is a cause of operational trouble of equipment such as fouling of the related equipment without lowering the yield of monomers of styrenes which are objective substances and without causing the operational trouble in a step of producing or purifying the styrenes containing divinylbenzene.
The method for suppressing the polymerization of the styrenes comprises producing or purifying the styrenes while adding dinitrophenol or the dinitrophenol and other nitrophenols in the step of producing or purifying the styrenes containing the divinylbenzene.
