Abstract:
To carbonize medical refuse surely and then melt it efficiently in a melting furnace to produce molten slag.
The carbonizing/melting system 10 comprises a carbonization unit 12 and a melting furnace 14 wherein the carbonization unit 12 carbonizes a matter to be treated 20, e.g. medical refuse, with dry vapor and feeds the carbonized matter into the melting furnace 14. The melting furnace 14 recovers combustible gas generated in the treating cylinder 18 of the carbonization unit 12 through a combustible gas recovery unit 34 and blows it under high pressure, as the fuel of molten carbonized matter, into the melting furnace 14 by means of a gas ejector 42 thus enhancing thermal efficiency.
