Abstract:

To photolyze photolytic reagent by emitting analysis light only to a specific region in a sample to analyze only the specific region.

An analysis light beam A output from an analysis light source 10 and an excitation light beam B output from an excitation light source 20 are totally reflected on an interface between a slide glass 42 and a sample 70 respectively to cause evanescent waves in the sample 70. The evanescent waves in the analysis light beam A photolyze photolytic reagent in the sample 70 in the vicinity of the slide glass 42, while on the other hand the evanescent waves in the excitation light beam B excite the sample 70 in the vicinity of the slide glass 42 to generate fluorescent light C, wherein the fluorescent light C generated from the sample 70 is detected by a photodetector 53.
