To provide mold equipment for continuous casting, for effectively using electromagnetic coils (hereinafter, referred to as combined electromagnetic coils) capable of selectively acting electromagnetic braking or electromagnetic stirring on molten steel in a mold, particularly, upon continuous casting for steel, wherein the combined electromagnetic coils are stored and installed in the mold without reducing their electromagnetic stirring capacity.
Disclosed is the mold equipment for continuous casting comprising: a mold where a plate 15 for fixing is arranged so as to be in contact on the rear side of a mold copper plate 12; and n pieces (n is the natural number of 2) of combined electromagnetic coils, where, from internal coiling wire respectively subjected to 2n pieces of teeth parts arranged at each long side of a mold, further, external winding wire is applied. A water feed chamber 16 for cooling water is arranged at the lower position of the combined electromagnetic coils 13 and a water exhaust chamber 14 is arranged at the upper position of the combined electromagnetic coils 13 at the lower position thereof so as to be in contact with the plate 15 for fixing, respectively. The mold copper plate 12 is provided with a cooling water flow passage 12b in the casting direction. The plate 15 for fixing is provided with a water exhaust flow passage 15b in which the assembling part 14a of cooling exhaust water and the length Lz in the casting direction satisfy LmLz0.3Lbp. A nonmagnetic mold copper plate pressing board 18 is arranged at the upper part of the mold copper plate 12. The reduction of the magnetic flux density in the meniscus of the combined electromagnetic coils can be suppressed without reducing mold cooling capacity.
