Abstract:
To provide a mold manufacturing method capable of manufacturing a mold having high surface precision regardless of the material of the mold, the mold and a plastic lens manufacturing method.
A free curved surface shape is formed to the molding surface of the mold (processes S2 and S3). Next, the smoothing and grinding of the molding surface are performed (processes S6 and S7) and the molding surface is further plated (process S11). Then, the smoothing and grinding of the plated molding surface are again performed (processes S6 and S7). The smoothing and grinding of the molding surface are performed by a grinding tool having a rotary shaft and the hollow dome-shaped elastic body provided to the leading end of the rotary shaft.
