Title:
MOLDED LINEAR LOW-DENSITY POLYETHYLENE RESIN FOAM AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3599436
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a molded foam which can recover from the molding shrinkage by aging at a lower temp. in a shorter time than that required for a convnetional molded foam and to provide a process for producing the same.
CONSTITUTION: The molded foam is formed by molding foamed particles in a mold, has a density of 0.06g/cm3 or lower, and contains, in each particle, 0.2-5.0wt.% ester of a polyhydric alcohol having 3-7 hydroxyl groups with a 15-23C fatty acid. The foam is produced by filling a mold with foamed linear low-density polyethylene resin particles contg. 0.2-5.0wt.% ester of a 15-23C fatty acid with a polyhydric alcohol having 3-7 hydroxyl groups and having a bulk density of 0.06g/cm3 or lower and heating the mold contents to fuse them together into a molded item according to the shape of the mold.
