Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide sufficient rigidity for a car body and to increase the width of a roof opening by a method wherein the front and the rear part of a roof are interconnected through the central part of a car body, a middle part roof with which a coupling part and the rear part of the roof are covered is longitudinally slidable and the rear end side can be tilted. CONSTITUTION:A car body roof is formed in a manner to be divided into a front roof 2 connected to a front pillar 5, a rear roof 4 connected to a rear pillar 6, and a middle part roof 3. The front roof 2 and the rear roof 4 are integrally formed by means of a coupling member 8 of the central part of a car body to form so called T-bar roof structure. The front end side of the middle part roof 8 is longitudinally guidable over the coupling member 8, and the rear end side is slidable and inclinable by means of a pair of links mounted to the rear roof 4. Connection of the roof part through the coupling member provides sufficient rigidity, and by bringing the middle part into a longitudinal slidable and inclinable state, a wide opening part and open space can be provided.
