To provide a multiple screen display device capable of keeping the luminance of the whole multiple screen even if a failure occurs in a backlight.
In the multiple screen display device, each of a liquid crystal display device 100 and liquid crystal display devices 101-103 includes a plurality of backlights 21-29 in charge of each area where the screen is divided into a plurality of areas and a gradation correction section 5 for performing a luminance correction between the luminance of a failure area to be an area corresponding to the backlight in which the failure is detected by a failure detection section and the luminance of areas other than the failure area. The liquid crystal display device 100 receives content of the luminance correction from the liquid crystal display devices 101-103, prepares a correction instruction for correcting the luminance of the whole multiple screen display device on the basis of the content of the luminance correction, performs the luminance correction by itself, transmits the correction instruction to the liquid crystal display devices 101-103 and causes the liquid crystal display devices 101-103 to perform the luminance correction according to the correction instruction.
