Abstract:
PURPOSE: To measure the activity of microorganisms with high accuracy by operating luminous signals generated by biological photoluminescence.
CONSTITUTION: A part of a floating material mixture liquid in a floating microorganism tank 1 is allowed to temporarily stay in a dark box 6 and subsequently returned to the floating microorganism tank. Biological photons are detected through a transparent glass window 7 of the dark box by a photomultiplier 15 and the intensity of the light is calculated and stored in the form of the count number per unit time by a data processor unit 16.
