Title:
FUEL SUPPLY DEVICE FOR V-TYPE ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3094915
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel supply device for a V-type engine which has a small size, light weight, is excellent in silence, brings about small load to a fuel piping, and stabilizes fuel injection characteristics.
SOLUTION: In a fuel supply device, a common rail 8 having a substantially trapezoidal section is arranged between center roots 2b and 3b of a bank for supplying high pressure fuel to fuel injection valves 12 arranged on cylinders #1 to #8 inside cylinder blocks 2, 3 of the V-shaped bank. A bottom of the common rail 8 is directly mounted on an engine base 5 by means of bolts 16, 17. Fuel outflow ports 18, 19 to the cylinders are arranged on both tapered side parts along the bank of the cylinder blocks 2, 3. Fuel inflow ports 22, 23 are formed on the upper parts of the common rail 8 through which high pressure fuel is supplied from a fuel supply pump 9. The fuel supply pump 9 is arranged adjacently to the common rail 8 in the longitudinal direction of an engine.
