Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit substantial radiation of RF energy generated inside a neon lamp apparatus by surrounding the neon lamp with a conductive reflective surface and a conductive mesh installed in a housing. SOLUTION: This neon lamp apparatus 10 contains a neon lamp 12 installed in a hollow part 14 of a lamp housing 16. The hollow part 14 has an aperture part 20 to emit light. The aperture part 20 is covered with a light transmissive lens 22. A conductive mesh 34 is positioned between the lens 22 and the housing 16 to cover the aperture part 20 of the housing 16. The hollow part 14 of the housing 16 is provided with light reflective inner surfaces 40, 42 metallized with a conductor such as aluminum to form a coating 43 having light reflecting property and electric conductive property. The conductive coating 43 on the surfaces 40, 42 and the conductive mesh 34 together form an RF shield surrounding the neon lamp 12 and inhibit substantial emission of RF energy.
