Abstract:
Provided is a neutron capture therapy system (1) for irradiating an irradiation target body with a neutron beam, the system being provided with: an irradiation chamber (2) which is enclosed with a shielding wall (W1) for shielding against neutron beams radiating from within the chamber to the outside, and in which irradiation of the irradiation target body with a neutron beam is conducted; a neutron beam generation part (10) for generating a neutron beam; a neutron beam emission part (20) for emitting, inside the irradiation chamber, the neutron beam generated by the neutron generation part; and a neutron beam detector (4) for detecting the neutron dose. The neutron beam detector (4) has: a scintillator (41) which emits light upon incidence of a neutron beam thereon; a photodetector (46) which converts light into an electric signal; an optical fiber (42) which transmits light from the scintillator (41) to the photodetector (46); and a shielding part (first shielding part (47) and second shielding part (48)) which covers the photodetector (46) and shields radiation, wherein the photodetector (46) and the shielding part are disposed within the irradiation chamber (2) or the shielding wall (W1).
