Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound capable of binding to an adenosine receptor, especially an adenosine analogue comprising an epoxide moiety.
SOLUTION: This composition which is a composition containing an N6 adenosine compound and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and capable of providing an A1 adenosine receptor and has a structure in which the N6 adenosine compound is represented by the following general formula (I) [in the formula (I), R is (II) or (III); and, in the formula (III), R1 is a 1-4C alkyl]. The adenosine agonist has therapeutic usefulness within a wide range of application such as regulation of the heart and kidney. The administration of the compound is useful as an antiarrhythmic agent. Thereby, the pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound as an active ingredient is useful for prophylactic or therapeutic treatment of cardiac arrthythmia of humans or other mammals.
