PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound exhibiting muscarinelike antagonist activity or mixed agonist/antagonist activity and therefore effective for the treatment and prevention of e.g. diseases characterized by excessive cholinerqic activity.
SOLUTION: The objective compound is expressed by formula I [X is NR4R5 (R4 and R5 are each a 1-10C alkyl, etc.), a 1-10C alkyl or a 3-10C cycloalkyl; Y is N or CH; Z is NR7R8 (R7 and R8 are each a l-10C alkyl, etc.); R2 is a l-6C alkyl, a halogen, hydroxy, etc.; R3 is a 1-6C alkyl, a halo, hydroxy, etc.], e.g. N-[(2,6-dimethyl-phenyl-)-(4-fluoro-phenylimino)methyl]-2-methyl-N'- phenylpyridine-1-carboxamidine. The compound can be produced e.g. by using a compound of formula II as a starting raw material and reacting with a compound of the formula X-H and a base such as triethylamine in an unreactive solvent such as diethyl ether.
