Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery with its high capacity by improving use rate of an active substance than conventional in a nickel hydroxide pole using a nickel active substance in which metal cobalt powder is added and mixed.
SOLUTION: In a nickel hydroxide pole for alkaline storage battery in which an active substance whose main component is nickel hydroxide is held on an electrode core body with metal cobalt power mixed, the use rate of the active substance can be improved by specifying the thin hole volume of the metal cobalt powder to 0.008cm3/g or less. Furthermore, the rate of peak strength in a grid face interval of 1.9&angst is set to 0.9 or less, the average particle size is set to 0.4 through 0.9μm, whereby the use rate of the active substance can be improved more.
