Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the adhesion of a negative active material with a current collector and enhance a charge/discharge cycle characteristic by specifying a binder and an auxiliary binder of a negative electrode in a nonaqueous electrolyte battery.
SOLUTION: In a nonaqueous electrolyte battery comprising a negative electrode made of a carbon material capable of absorbing/releasing lithium, a positive electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte, as a binder of the negative electrode, polyimide resin is used, and as an auxiliary binder, at least one selected from an acrylic acid polymer, a methacrylic acid polymer, and a urethane polymer is used. The peeling off and coming out of carbon powder from a core body are prevented even if charge/discharge cycles are repeated, and drop in battery capacity is retarded.
